IELTS, MOI and the real language rule
IELTS fees, dates, retakes and what a band really means, where an MOI letter or Duolingo is accepted, and what each country asks for at the national level.
English requirements are the most misrepresented part of the process, because agencies collapse two different rules — the country's and the university's — into one sentence. These articles keep them apart: IELTS fees, dates, registration, retakes and what each band means; where an MOI letter, Duolingo or a university's own test is genuinely accepted; and which countries can be applied to without IELTS at all. As an example of the gap, Italy's national rule is not "IELTS 6.0" — it is B2 across all four skills, and it can be evidenced in more than one way.
