* These windows are typical, not absolute. Every university and every scholarship sets its own deadline and they shift year to year — always confirm the current date against the institution’s own page before you plan around it.
Start four to six months out
That is the comfortable window for most intakes. If you are chasing a scholarship, make it six to eight — funding deadlines close first.
Never aim for the deadline itself
Attestation, translation and visa appointments all take longer than students expect, and none of them can be rushed once you are late.
There is usually a second intake
Missing autumn is not the end of the year — spring exists in most countries. We will tell you which intake your profile is actually ready for.
