Master's applications for September 2027 are open now, from 1 October 2026. The date that matters most is 1 December 2026: apply and pay the application fee by then and it costs EUR 50 instead of EUR 150, and only applicants who paid in that window may apply for Polimi's merit scholarships, on a separate form that closes at 12:00 noon Italian time on 15 December 2026. Engineering also has a second window from 12 January to 25 February 2027, and Architecture and Design one that runs to 28 January 2027, but neither leads to a merit scholarship. For a Bangladeshi degree Polimi sets a minimum GPA of 3.3 out of 4 and does not evaluate applications below it. You can apply without an English certificate, but you need one (IELTS 6.0, PTE 59 and others; Duolingo is not accepted) for the admission letter, the scholarship, the visa and enrolment. Without a scholarship a non-EU master's student pays the top fee, EUR 3,943.04 a year under the 2026/27 rules. Nothing here promises admission, a scholarship or a visa: Polimi's own pages and calls are the authority.

2027/28 admission: which window applies to you
Polimi's windows depend on the study area of the master's you choose. For the September 2027 intake, a student applying from Bangladesh has these:
| Study area | Window | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering, 1st call | 1 October – 1 December 2026 | Early Bird: EUR 50 fee and eligibility for the merit scholarships |
| Engineering, 2nd call | 12 January – 25 February 2027 | EUR 150 fee; no merit scholarship |
| Architecture and Design | 1 October 2026 – 28 January 2027 | Early Bird until 1 December; EUR 150 after it. First semester only |
| Two programmes in different study areas | 1 October – 1 December 2026, or 12 – 28 January 2027 | Outside these dates both choices must be in the same area |
| Additional call, 1 – 18 March 2027 | Not open to applicants in Bangladesh | Only for EEA students and non-EEA students already resident in Italy |
Every window closes at 23:59 Italian time, which is 04:59 the next morning in Bangladesh. Polimi says the outcome of every window arrives "by the end of May 2027".
Four things catch applicants out:
- 1 December is the date that decides the scholarship. The merit call is open only to applicants who paid the application fee between 1 October and 1 December 2026. A strong file submitted on 2 December is still considered for admission, but not for a merit scholarship.
- Applying early does not mean hearing early. Polimi encourages Early Bird applications "to receive results sooner", yet every outcome row on its deadlines page says end of May 2027.
- You cannot change anything after paying. Once the fee is paid you cannot modify or add documents, so the file must be complete before you pay. Only the English certificate may follow later (see Admission requirements).
- The 1 – 18 March call is not for you. It is reserved for EEA citizens and non-EEA students with an Italian residence permit. Some guides list it as a third Engineering window for everyone.
One application per semester can name up to two programmes, a first and a second choice. For Design, the second choice is evaluated only if you are not admitted to the first. Architectural Engineering, Building Engineering for Sustainability and Management of Built Environment follow the Engineering windows, not the Architecture ones.
Why students consider Polimi
- Engineering, architecture and design, and nothing else. Its schools cover exactly these fields, and every master's degree in the table below is taught in English or has an English track.
- A large international intake. Polimi counted 9,940 international students in March 2026, 6,608 of them on master's programmes.
- Seats set aside for non-EU students. Each programme publishes how many of its places are reserved for non-EU applicants; for 2026/27 that was 75 in Computer Science and Engineering and 150 in Management Engineering, for example (see English-taught programmes).
- Merit scholarships worth up to EUR 10,000 a year with the fees waived, for the strongest Early Bird applicants (see Scholarships).
- One rule for Bangladeshi degrees, stated in advance. A minimum GPA of 3.3 out of 4, so you know before paying whether your file will be read.
What Polimi is not is cheap or easy. A non-EU master's student without a scholarship pays the highest fee band, admission is decided by a committee of professors, and the GPA rule is not negotiable.
Master's degrees
A Polimi master's (Laurea Magistrale) lasts two years. Applicants with a foreign degree go through two checks: Polimi's International Admissions Office first, then a committee of professors from the department, which makes the decision.
What Polimi requires of your bachelor's degree:
- It must be obtained before you enrol (you may apply in your final year).
- It must give access to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework, the master's level.
- It must contain subjects closely related to the master's you choose. Each programme lists them on its page, and a high CGPA in a different field does not make up for missing subjects.
- It must come from an institution in the country's official education system. Degrees taught under a franchising agreement are not accepted.
- A bachelor's in a different field, or a vocational qualification, cannot apply directly.
- If you already hold a master's, Polimi evaluates only your bachelor's.
For Bangladesh Polimi adds one rule: a minimum GPA of 3.3 out of 4. Its country rules "are strict, and no exceptions will be considered", and below the minimum it does "not proceed with the evaluation" at all, so the application fee is lost. How Bangladeshi grades are read abroad: CGPA to European grades.
Three-year degrees. Polimi's Bangladesh row says nothing about them. Its rows for India and Pakistan ask for four-year degrees, but for Bangladesh only the general rule applies: the degree must give access to master's-level study. If you hold a three-year pass degree, ask Polimi through its enquiry form before you pay; see also 3-year vs 4-year bachelor's.
GRE is optional, for Engineering and Architecture only, with no minimum score. A portfolio is mandatory for Architecture, Urban Planning and Policy Design, and every Design programme.
English-taught programmes and non-EU places
A selection of the master's degrees Bangladeshi students ask about most. The language is what each programme's page stated on 31 October 2026; the places are Polimi's published figures for 2026/27, the latest available. The 2027/28 figures are not out yet.
| Programme | Campus | Language | Places, total | For non-EU students |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Computer Science and Engineering | Milano Leonardo | English | 580 | 75 |
| Management Engineering | Milano Bovisa | English | 900 | 150 |
| Mechanical Engineering | Milano Bovisa (also Lecco, Piacenza) | English | 680 | 135 |
| Electrical Engineering | Milano Leonardo | English | 190 | 70 |
| Energy Engineering | Milano Bovisa (also Piacenza) | English | 320 | 50 |
| Automation and Control Engineering | Milano Leonardo | English | 270 | 45 |
| Telecommunication Engineering | Milano Leonardo | English | 120 | 45 |
| Aeronautical Engineering | Milano Bovisa | English | 230 | 35 |
| Electronics Engineering | Milano Leonardo | English | 150 | 20 |
| Civil Engineering | Milano Leonardo | Italian or English | 150 | 60 |
| Civil Engineering for Risk Mitigation | Lecco | English | 80 | 55 |
| Biomedical Engineering | Milano Leonardo | Italian or English | 460 | 30 |
| Architecture (English track) | Milano Leonardo | Italian or English | 480 | 240 |
| Building Engineering for Sustainability (English track) | Milano Leonardo | Italian or English | 90 | 75 |
| Digital and Interaction Design | Milano Bovisa | English | 100 | 50 |
| Interior and Spatial Design | Milano Bovisa | Italian or English | 150 | 50 |
Where a programme says "Italian or English", choose the English track; a track taught in Italian also needs an Italian certificate at B2. The full list is on Polimi's master's programmes page, and every programme's own page carries its entry subjects. Read those rather than any summary, including this one.
Campus matters for the scholarship. The largest awards are for programmes in the two Milan campuses; Piacenza, Cremona, Lecco and Mantova have their own, smaller ones (see Scholarships).
Admission requirements
Your degree and GPA
A bachelor's in a related field that gives access to master's-level study, with a GPA of at least 3.3 out of 4 for a Bangladeshi degree; see Master's degrees.
English
Every applicant needs English, for English-taught and Italian-taught programmes alike. Polimi's list, updated for 2027/28:
| Certificate | Minimum |
|---|---|
| IELTS Academic or General Training | 6.0 |
| PTE Academic | 59 |
| TOEFL iBT, including Home Edition | 78 for tests taken until 20 January 2026; 4.5 on the new scale from 21 January 2026 |
| TOEFL paper-based / computer-based | 547 / 210 |
| TOEIC | From 2027/28: 785 Listening and Reading plus 310 Speaking and Writing |
| Cambridge | First at grade B; Advanced or Proficiency at grade C |
| Trinity College | ISE II |
| Pearson English International Certificate | 59 |
| LanguageCert ESOL | B2 Communicator, all four skills |
Duolingo is not on the list. A certificate the issuer considers expired is not accepted.
Medium of instruction. You are exempt if your bachelor's was taught in English for at least three years, and your university gives you a document confirming that at least 75% of your courses were taught in English. A letter that says only "the medium of instruction was English" does not meet the 75% condition. At enrolment Polimi asks for the original letter, unless your Diploma Supplement states it.
When you need it. The certificate is not needed to submit the application, and Polimi says it "does not influence the outcome". It is mandatory for the admission letter, for the merit scholarship (by 4 March 2027), for the visa and for enrolment. Without it your admission stays conditional.
The visa is a separate check. The Embassy of Italy in Dhaka asks for a language certificate "if not already verified by the University with report on Universitaly", and for English the only certificate it lists is IELTS, with a score of at least 6. Polimi does verify your certificate before it validates your pre-enrolment, but its pages do not say whether that verification appears on Universitaly in the form the embassy means. So before relying on PTE, TOEFL or a medium-of-instruction letter, ask Polimi whether it will record your English there; if it will not, plan for IELTS. See Italy without IELTS.
Italian, before you graduate
Italian is not an entry requirement for an English-taught degree. But every foreign student on an English-taught programme must clear an Italian-language requirement before registering for the final degree exam: a B2 certificate from the CLIQ system, or Polimi's free Italian course (at least 75% attendance) and its final test.
When you must hold your degree
You may apply in your final year. Under the 2026/27 rule, a student who enrols before graduating counts as enrolled only if they graduate by 1 September. Polimi also validates your Universitaly pre-enrolment, which you need for the visa, only after you have graduated. If your final results usually come late, plan for that before you apply.
Documents you need
To apply
Everything is uploaded as a PDF scanned from the original, not from a photocopy, with no accents or special characters in the file names.
| Mandatory | Notes |
|---|---|
| Academic transcript | Original with the university's stamps and signatures, scanned on both sides, or a document with a verification link or QR code |
| Bachelor's degree certificate | Or a provisional certificate, or a registrar's letter confirming you are in your final year, ideally with the expected graduation date |
| Cumulative GPA statement | Issued by your university, giving your CGPA and the grading scale with its pass mark. A transcript that already shows both will do |
| CV | Maximum two pages, in English or Italian |
| Portfolio | Mandatory for Architecture, Urban Planning and Policy Design, and every Design programme (maximum 20 MB). Design applicants from another field may send a thesis abstract instead |
| Optional, but they strengthen the file | Notes |
|---|---|
| Motivation letter | Maximum two pages; two programmes means two letters, combined in one PDF |
| Letter of recommendation | From a professor, with their institutional contacts; an employer's letter if you graduated years ago |
| Course descriptions | Up to 4 MB: the content and hours of each course you took |
| GRE General | Engineering and Architecture only; no minimum; Polimi's code is 0495 |
| English certificate | Not needed to submit; needed later (see Admission requirements) |
Academic documents are accepted in Italian, English, French or Spanish; anything else needs a translation stamped or signed by an official translator. After you pay the application fee nothing can be changed or added, and incomplete or forged files are disqualified. Polimi may ask, at any stage, for a Declaration of Value or CIMEA's Statement of Comparability. Register with your name exactly as it is in your passport, and keep one personal code: applications made under several codes "will be invalidated, even in case of admission". If your SSC, HSC and passport spell your name differently, fix it early; see name mismatches.
Once you are admitted
To enrol you need two things about your degree, uploaded by 31 October at the latest:
| What it proves | Accepted documents |
|---|---|
| That the degree is authentic | CIMEA's Statement of Verification; an electronic apostille; or an online verification link or QR code from your university |
| That it gives access to a master's | CIMEA's Statement of Comparability; a Diploma Supplement to the European standard; or a Declaration of Value from the Italian embassy |
Polimi states that "Paper Apostille is no longer accepted". Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention in 2025, but we have not been able to confirm that a Bangladeshi apostille is issued in an electronic form Polimi accepts, so ask Polimi before you rely on one; CIMEA's Statement of Verification is the route that does not depend on it (see Declaration of Value or CIMEA). Translations must be sworn; Polimi does not accept translations made in Italy.
How to apply, step by step
- 1Check the GPA rule and the entry subjects. 3.3 out of 4 for a Bangladeshi degree, and the subjects listed on the programme's page. Below the GPA minimum your file is not read.
- 2Choose up to two programmes for the same semester, in the same study area unless you apply in an overlapping window (see Deadlines).
- 3Register on Polimi's Online Services to get your personal code and password. Use a personal email you check, and your name exactly as in your passport.
- 4Fill in the application ("Apply to a Master of Science programme") and upload every document (see Documents you need). Do this before you pay.
- 5Pay the application fee: EUR 50 until 1 December 2026, EUR 150 from 2 December. It is mandatory, non-refundable and cannot be waived, and your application is not assessed until it is paid. Polimi warns that payments from some countries' bank accounts can fail and that the deadline cannot be extended, so do not leave it to the last day.
- 6If you applied to an English-taught programme by 1 December, fill in the merit scholarship form before 12:00 noon Italian time on 15 December 2026 (see Scholarships).
- 7Upload your English certificate as soon as you have it: by 4 March 2027 for the scholarship, and in any case before you can receive the admission letter.
- 8Follow the result in Online Services, where Polimi also sends its messages. Outcomes come by the end of May 2027.
- 9Accept the offer online. If you were admitted to both programmes, accepting one rejects the other.
- 10Pre-enrol on Universitaly and prepare the enrolment documents; see After admission.
Do you need an agent?
Polimi names official representatives in 18 countries, and Bangladesh is not one of them. In its own words: "We strongly discourage students from seeking assistance from unauthorized agents for their application to Politecnico di Milano."
We are a consultancy, so you should know that before you read further. You can apply to Polimi entirely on your own, and this page is written so that you can: every window, document and fee above comes from Polimi's own pages, linked below. Polimi answers applicants through its enquiry form and, once you have applied, through the messages in your application. If you want a second pair of eyes on your GPA, your subjects or your visa file, we help only with what you ask us to, and we do not promise an outcome. Questions to ask any agent, us included, are in how to verify a consultancy.
Application fee and what it costs
Fees to apply
| Fee | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Application fee, Early Bird | EUR 50 | Paid between 1 October and 1 December 2026 |
| Application fee, standard | EUR 150 | From 2 December 2026 |
| Administrative fee, only if you win a merit scholarship | About EUR 190 | You accept the scholarship by paying it |
The application fee is mandatory, non-refundable and cannot be waived. On the administrative fee Polimi's pages disagree: the 2027/28 scholarship call says about EUR 190, the scholarship page says about EUR 170, and last year's acceptance page showed EUR 217.04. The call is the document that governs, so expect about EUR 190 and check the amount in the award email.
Tuition: non-EU master's students pay the top band
Polimi's fees depend on your family's income, but not for you: a non-EU student admitted to a master's with a degree from abroad pays the maximum fee unless they hold a scholarship from Polimi or another institution, or a DSU award. Polimi adds that this applies "even if they submit the ISEE/ISEEU parificato". The latest published figures, for a study plan of 46 to 74 credits:
| 2026/27 | |
|---|---|
| First instalment, at enrolment | EUR 880.04 |
| Second instalment, in May | Up to EUR 3,003 |
| The year's maximum | EUR 3,943.04 |
These are 2026/27 figures; the 2027/28 amounts are not published yet. The first instalment is refunded if your visa is refused or not issued by the deadline, as long as your bank details are in Online Services. The realistic ways to pay less are the merit scholarship and the DSU scholarship (see Scholarships).
Living costs, the visa's funds requirement (EUR 10,179.85 for the year) and the visa fee are separate; see Italy proof of funds and the cost calculator.

Scholarships
Polimi has two kinds of scholarship that work in opposite ways: merit scholarships decided on your academic record, and the DSU scholarship decided on your family's income. You cannot hold both.
Merit-based international scholarships, 2027/28
Polimi's 2027/28 call offers 64 awards. Every one includes a full tuition-fee waiver.
| Award | Number | Amount, before tax | For first-year students of English-taught master's at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Platinum | 10 | EUR 10,000 | Milano Leonardo or Milano Bovisa |
| Gold | 18 | EUR 8,000 | Milano Leonardo or Milano Bovisa |
| Gold Piacenza | 16 | EUR 5,000 | Piacenza: Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Energy Engineering (Renewables) |
| Bronze Piacenza | 10 | EUR 2,500 | Piacenza: Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics for Manufacturing) |
| Silver | 10 | Fee waiver only | Cremona, Lecco, Mantova or Piacenza |
How it works, from the call:
- It is a separate form, and it is not automatic. You fill it in through Online Services (Benefits and Agreements, then Economic benefits) between 1 October 2026 and 12:00 noon Italian time on 15 December 2026. No other way of applying is accepted.
- Only Early Bird applicants may apply: international students who applied to an English-taught master's and paid the application fee between 1 October and 1 December 2026.
- You must be admitted, accept the offer and upload a valid English certificate, verified by the office. The page sets 4 March 2027 for the certificate.
- How winners are chosen. A commission gives priority to candidates from countries that have suffered military aggression or civil war, then weighs merit, geographic origin, gender balance and age; a tie goes to the younger candidate. Polimi says GPA and academic achievement are "of utmost importance".
- Results come by email "within three to four months after the application deadline", so around March or April 2027. You accept by paying the administrative fee of about EUR 190 and must enrol in 2027/28 or lose the award.
- The money arrives in two halves: Platinum EUR 5,000 at the start of the semester and EUR 5,000 after at least two exams; Gold EUR 4,000 and EUR 4,000 after one exam. It is paid only into an Italian or SEPA bank account (or a prepaid card) in your name, and it is taxed as employment income.
- Renewal for the second year needs a score (each grade multiplied by its credits) of at least 1,000 points for Platinum or 700 for the others by 10 August 2028, in the same programme. Without it you pay the full fee in year two.
- It cannot be combined with any other scholarship, Italian or foreign, public or private, except mobility grants. If you win two, you have ten days to choose by email.
The DSU scholarship (income-based)
Polimi runs the DSU call itself, every June, and you apply in Online Services even before you enrol. In 2026/27:
- the family's ISEE or ISEEU parificato had to be at most EUR 26,887.93, and the ISPE at most EUR 58,452.06;
- there were 1,250 awards for first-year master's students, ranked on family income alone in the first year;
- a student living away from home in other accommodation received EUR 8,248, 7,172 or 5,857 in total by income bracket, including one free meal a day;
- the deadline for first-year students was 5 August 2026, 12:00 noon;
- students who already hold a degree at the same or a higher level could not apply, and first-year winners keep it only by earning a minimum number of credits by 10 August of the following year.
For a family whose income and assets are in Bangladesh, the ISEEU parificato is issued by Polimi's partner tax centre (CAF) from documents issued by the Bangladeshi authorities, translated into Italian and legalised; ask the CAF how it treats a Bangladeshi apostille. Students from countries on Italy's "particularly poor countries" list may instead present a certificate from the Italian embassy stating they are not from a "notoriously high-income, high-social status family". A DSU award also lifts you out of the top fee band. How it works: ISEE parificato explained. The 2027/28 call, with its own figures, comes out in June 2027.
What does not apply to you
- Invest Your Talent in Italy. Polimi offers it only to applicants from 17 named countries, and Bangladesh is not one of them.
- Italian government (MAECI) scholarships are linked from Polimi's page; check each year's call for Bangladesh, and remember they cannot be combined with a merit award.
A scholarship does not replace your proof of funds. The Embassy of Italy in Dhaka's checklist says a scholarship award "does not exempt applicants" from showing their financial means. Our longer guide: Politecnico di Milano scholarships.
Bachelor's degrees
Polimi's bachelor's pages for applicants with a foreign qualification still describe 2026/27; the 2027/28 rules are not published yet. Under last year's rules:
- You need 12 years of schooling, which SSC plus HSC meets; a foundation course of at least one year can fill a gap.
- Engineering bachelor's admit through an entrance test: Polimi's own TOL, which is in Italian, or an alternative: TOLC-I (Italian), CEnT-S (in English) or the SAT. Our live CEnT-S seat tracker checks CISIA's calendar every 15 minutes.
- A programme taught in English needs proof of English: a certificate, a school qualification taught in English, or citizenship of an English-speaking country. Italian at B2 is needed before you finish.
- Polimi validates a bachelor's student's visa pre-enrolment only after the entrance test is passed; last year the Universitaly application had to be in by 31 August.
- English-taught bachelor's are few; Architectural Design has an English track. Polimi also offers scholarships for international students on the Process Engineering bachelor's at Cremona and the Industrial Engineering bachelor's at Piacenza.
For most Bangladeshi students the realistic Polimi route is a master's after a four-year degree. For other Italian options after HSC, see studying in Italy after HSC.
What Bangladeshi students should check
For admission (Polimi's rules)
- GPA: at least 3.3 out of 4. Polimi does not read files below it and does not make exceptions.
- Degree: four years is the safe case. For a three-year pass degree, ask Polimi before paying.
- Subjects: match your syllabus to the subjects the programme lists. This is where most master's applications fail.
- GPA statement: a document from your university stating your CGPA and its grading scale with the pass mark.
- English: a certificate from Polimi's list (no Duolingo), or a letter confirming at least three years and 75% of courses in English.
- Pay by 1 December 2026 if you want the merit scholarship, with every document uploaded first.
- Graduation: you must graduate by 1 September 2027 (last year's rule) to start in September.
For the visa (Italy's rules, decided by the embassy)
- English: unless Polimi has recorded your English on your Universitaly pre-enrolment, the embassy asks for a certificate, and IELTS with a score of at least 6 is the only English one it names.
- Funds: EUR 10,179.85 for the year, from lawful and traceable sources. Italy's national rule allows family money up to a fourth-degree relative, but the Dhaka embassy's checklist names only your own 12-month bank statement or a sponsor who is a parent, a legal resident of Italy or an institution, so plan on your own or your parents' funds. A scholarship does not replace this.
- Your degree: with the Universitaly pre-enrolment receipt, the embassy asks for a Declaration of Value issued by the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka (or the receipt of your application for one) or a verifiable CIMEA certificate.
- Deadline: 31 October 2027 for 2027/28 master's degrees, but Polimi wants the visa before classes begin in mid-September.
- Pre-enrolment is capped: each university may validate only 20% more pre-enrolments than its allocated places, so pre-enrol as soon as you accept (the validation cap).
After admission: next steps
- 1Accept the offer in Online Services. Without a valid English certificate the admission stays conditional and the admission letter is not issued.
- 2Pre-enrol on Universitaly for the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka, entering your Polimi personal code as your university account ID. Last year Polimi advised doing it by the end of June. Step by step: Universitaly pre-enrolment.
- 3Graduate and upload your final degree, the document proving it is authentic and your English certificate. Polimi validates your pre-enrolment only after that, and the embassy is then notified. Validation is not a visa; the embassy alone decides.

Frequently asked questions
When does Politecnico di Milano admission for 2027/28 open?+
Master's applications for the September 2027 intake opened on 1 October 2026 for every study area. Engineering's first call and the Early Bird period both end on 1 December 2026.
What is the Early Bird deadline?+
1 December 2026 at 23:59 Italian time, which is 04:59 on 2 December in Bangladesh. Paying the application fee by then costs EUR 50 instead of EUR 150 and is the condition for applying for a merit scholarship.
What are the other deadlines?+
Engineering has a second call from 12 January to 25 February 2027. Architecture and Design take applications from 1 October 2026 to 28 January 2027. The 1 to 18 March 2027 call is only for EEA students and non-EEA students already resident in Italy.
When will I get the result?+
Polimi gives "by the end of May 2027" for every window, the early ones included. Merit scholarship results come separately, within three to four months of 15 December 2026.
What GPA does Polimi require from Bangladeshi students?+
At least 3.3 out of 4. Polimi says its country rules are strict with no exceptions, and it does not evaluate an application below the minimum.
Can I apply with a three-year degree?+
Polimi's Bangladesh row does not say. Its general rule is that the degree must give access to master's-level study. If you hold a three-year pass degree, ask Polimi through its enquiry form before paying the fee.
Is IELTS required?+
Polimi accepts IELTS 6.0, PTE Academic 59, TOEFL, Cambridge, Trinity, TOEIC, Pearson PEIC and LanguageCert, but not Duolingo. At the visa stage the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka asks for a certificate only if the university has not already verified your language on Universitaly, and for English it lists only IELTS (at least 6). Unless Polimi confirms it has recorded your English there, plan for IELTS.
Does a medium-of-instruction letter work?+
Yes, if your bachelor's was taught in English for at least three years and your university confirms that at least 75% of your courses were in English. For the visa the embassy's own language rule still applies.
Do I need the English certificate to apply?+
No. You can submit and be evaluated without it, but it is mandatory for the admission letter, the merit scholarship (by 4 March 2027), the visa and enrolment.
How much is the application fee?+
EUR 50 if paid between 1 October and 1 December 2026, EUR 150 from 2 December. It is non-refundable and cannot be waived.
How much is tuition for a Bangladeshi master's student?+
A non-EU student admitted to a master's with a degree from abroad pays the top fee unless they hold a scholarship or a DSU award: EUR 3,943.04 a year for a full study plan under the 2026/27 rules, starting with EUR 880.04 at enrolment. The 2027/28 figures are not published yet.
Is the merit scholarship automatic?+
No. It has its own form in Online Services, open until 12:00 noon Italian time on 15 December 2026, and only applicants to an English-taught master's who paid the application fee by 1 December 2026 may submit it.
How much is the merit scholarship worth?+
Every award waives the tuition fee. Platinum adds EUR 10,000 and Gold EUR 8,000 a year before tax for the Milan campuses; Piacenza has EUR 5,000 and EUR 2,500 awards, and Silver awards for the other campuses waive the fee only. There are 64 in all for 2027/28.
Can I combine the merit scholarship with DSU?+
No. The merit award cannot be combined with any other scholarship except mobility grants; if you win two you have ten days to choose.
Is Invest Your Talent in Italy available at Polimi for Bangladeshis?+
No. Polimi offers it only to applicants from 17 named countries, and Bangladesh is not one of them.
Do I need an agent to apply?+
No. Polimi has no official representative in Bangladesh and discourages unauthorised agents. Every step can be done on Polimi's Online Services, and Polimi answers questions through its enquiry form.
What should I do after receiving admission?+
Accept the offer, upload your English certificate, pre-enrol on Universitaly, graduate and upload your degree with proof of its authenticity, wait for Polimi to validate your pre-enrolment, then apply for the study visa in Dhaka. Enrol and pay the first instalment, and apply for DSU and housing if you need them.
Does Polimi publish an acceptance rate?+
No. It publishes the places reserved for non-EU students on each programme, not an acceptance rate, and any percentage you see online did not come from the university.

Send us your HSC or degree results, your IELTS status and the programme you have in mind. We will tell you honestly which window you are in and what your file is missing, before you pay any fee. We do not promise admission, a scholarship or a visa; nobody can.
Entry rules, dates and fees change every year, and each programme's own call is the final authority. Nothing on this page guarantees admission, a scholarship or a visa.
