Cyprus is the easiest of the nine to apply to from Dhaka — the whole process is handled locally, with no trip to New Delhi for an appointment. That convenience is real, and it is also why the cost side gets skimmed over in most conversations about it. Cyprus is not one of the cheap destinations. It sits in the middle, above Greece and Bulgaria and below Malta.

Two things about that funds row. First, in Cyprus the amount is set by the university rather than by a single national circular, so it varies — EUR 5,000 to 7,000 is the practical range and EUR 7,000 is the safe number to plan against. Second, on top of the balance you show, Cypriot universities normally require a repatriation bank guarantee, which is a separate instrument your bank issues. Ask the university for its exact wording before you go to the bank, because the wording is what gets files rejected.
The six months with no income
This is the single most important line in a Cyprus budget and it is not a number, it is a rule.
You cannot work for the first six months. After that, students may work 20 hours a week in designated sectors — and 38 hours during holidays — with the contract stamped by the labour office. Designated sectors is a real restriction, not a formality: the permitted list is narrower than "any part-time job".
So a Cyprus plan has to fund one entire semester with no earnings at all. If your family's plan quietly assumes you will be sending some of your rent from a job by November, redo it now rather than in November.

Most Cypriot universities want a substantial part of the first year's tuition paid before the entry permit is issued, and for some bachelor's programmes that first payment is larger than the annual "from" figure suggests. Get the exact instalment schedule in writing from the admissions office, in the same email as the offer, and do not rely on a figure from an agent.
EU, but not Schengen
Cyprus is a member of the European Union and is not part of the Schengen area. Your Cypriot student residence permit does not give you free travel across Schengen countries; you apply for a Schengen visa like anyone else. This is the most common misunderstanding about studying in Cyprus and it occasionally appears in agency marketing as a benefit, which is simply false.

Where the number comes down
Cypriot universities run their own merit scholarships, typically as a percentage discount on tuition rather than a cash grant, and they are usually awarded on your HSC or bachelor's results at the point of admission. That means the discount is decided before you have any leverage, so applying early with complete documents matters.
