The city and the campus
Szeged's distinguishing feature is that the university is not on the edge of town — its faculties are spread through the centre, so you walk or cycle between them. The city sits on the Tisza in Hungary's sunniest region, and student life concentrates around Dugonics tér and Kárász utca.
The university
University of Szeged is strong in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, the natural sciences and informatics. It is a major Stipendium Hungaricum destination, so its international office and support structures are well developed.
Work, honestly
Much like Debrecen: limited, and difficult without Hungarian. University research assistantships and tutoring are the realistic options. Some students plan to work in Budapest over the summer, but that adds a second set of accommodation costs.
