A Master's file needs your bachelor's degree and full transcript, a research-aware SOP, and references who can speak to your academic work.
You will need your bachelor's degree certificate — provisional is usually acceptable if the final one has not been issued — together with a complete transcript covering every semester. If your degree is still in progress, most programmes accept an application with results to date plus an expected completion date.
A Master's Statement of Purpose is a different document from an undergraduate one. It should show that you know what the field is currently arguing about: name the research area you want to work in, the faculty whose work interests you and why, and what you intend to contribute. Vague enthusiasm reads as an undergraduate essay and is scored like one.
References carry real weight at this level. Two letters is the norm — ideally one academic supervisor who has read your work and one employer if you have relevant experience. Give each referee your CV, the programme details and a fortnight's notice; a rushed reference reads as a rushed reference.
A structure that works — five paragraphs
1) Opening: who you are and what pulled you toward this subject, anchored in something that actually happened rather than a general statement about passion. 2) Academic background: what you have studied and how it prepares you for this specific programme. 3) Why this programme and this university: name the modules, the research group or the facilities, which requires you to have read the programme page properly. 4) Why this country: what the system offers that your alternatives do not. 5) Plans after graduation: what you intend to do with the qualification. If you have a study gap, explain it in one honest sentence rather than hoping nobody notices.
What sinks an SOP
Quoting a dictionary definition of your field. Claiming a lifelong passion with nothing behind it. Praising the country's weather, culture or beauty for a paragraph. Copying a template you found online — reviewers have read it hundreds of times. Writing the same essay for six universities and changing only the name, especially when you forget to change one of them. Saying nothing about what you will do after the degree, which is exactly what a visa officer will later want to know.
