The method, before the list
Most people search for "scholarships in Europe", collect twenty names from listing sites, and discover that half have closed and a third never applied to Bangladeshi students. The order is backwards.
Do it this way instead:
- 1Choose a subject and two or three countries. Everything downstream depends on this.
- 2Shortlist four to six specific programmes you would genuinely accept.
- 3Open each programme's own page and read the fees and funding tab. This is where university awards live, and it is the step that aggregators cannot replace.
- 4Then check the national scheme for those countries, and the EU-level schemes.
- 5Keep one spreadsheet: programme, tuition, award, deadline, whether an offer is needed first.
Four programmes read properly beat forty names collected loosely.

The Italian regional layer deserves a specific warning: the agency, the income threshold and the deadline are different in every region, and applying to the wrong agency is why most Bangladeshi applications to that system fail. Start at which agency applies to your Italian university.
Searching a university site properly
University sites bury funding. Two reliable moves:
- Go to the programme page, not the scholarship page, and look for a tab called fees, funding, tuition or costs. Programme-specific awards are almost never on the central scholarship page.
- Search the site itself for the words scholarship, bursary, waiver, tuition reduction and assistantship separately. They are different schemes with different pages, and a site search for one will not surface the others.
If a programme page names no funding at all, that is usually the true answer for that programme. Treat it as information rather than as a reason to keep hunting.
What an agent can and cannot add
An honest consultancy adds structure, document work, deadline discipline and an unwelcome opinion about whether your file is competitive. It cannot add access to a scheme, because there is no private scholarship list — every one of the portals above is public and free. Anyone who tells you they have exclusive access to European government funding is describing something that does not exist.

Building your own calendar
Most funded schemes for an autumn start close between October and January, months before the ordinary admission deadlines people plan around. Put every deadline you find into one calendar the day you find it, and work backwards from the earliest one — attestation and translation alone take weeks. Common questions
Is there one website that lists all European scholarships?+
No, and any site claiming to be one is an aggregator that copies calls once and does not track amendments. Government schemes live on national portals, university awards live on individual programme pages, and research funding lives on EURAXESS. Use an aggregator only to discover a name, then finish on the funder's own page.
Do I need an agent to find or apply for a scholarship?+
No. Every scheme worth applying to is published free and in English on an official site, and the applications are made directly by you. A consultancy can add structure, document work and deadline discipline, but nobody has access to a private scholarship list, because none exists.
Why can I not find any scholarship on my chosen programme's page?+
Usually because there is not one, and that is a real answer worth accepting rather than searching around. Check the university's separate pages for bursaries, waivers and assistantships, since those are different schemes with different pages, then move on to the national scheme or a different programme.
