Not the same interview as the embassy
The two interviews people conflate test opposite things, and preparing for the wrong one is a real failure mode.

Not every scheme interviews
Some do, some do not, and some leave it to the host university. Stipendium Hungaricum host institutions commonly run an interview or an entrance assessment between February and April. Erasmus Mundus consortia vary — a minority interview shortlisted candidates. Document-only schemes exist too.
The scheme's own call tells you. Do not assume either way, and watch your inbox and the application portal from the day you submit, because invitations often arrive with only a few days' notice.
The five question families

The first row is where most interviews are won or lost. Reviewers ask about your thesis because it is the one thing you certainly did, and a candidate who cannot explain their own limitations section is an immediate concern.
Say "I do not know" properly
You will be asked something you cannot answer. The strong response is short: say you do not know, say how you would find out, and stop. Guessing confidently is worse than not knowing, because it tells the panel that they cannot rely on anything else you have said.
The time-zone arithmetic
Bangladesh is UTC+6 all year, with no daylight saving. Europe changes clocks. This is where slots get missed.

⚠️ Always confirm from the calendar invitation itself rather than from this table, and check whether the date falls before or after Europe's clock change. Reply to confirm the slot in both time zones — that one line has saved several people.
The practical setup
- 1Test the platform a day early, not five minutes before. Camera, microphone, the actual link.
- 2Wired internet if you have it, and a phone hotspot ready as a backup. Say so at the start if your connection is unstable — panels are used to it.
- 3Passport within reach. Some panels verify identity.
- 4Set your display name to the name on your application, not a nickname.
- 5Quiet room, plain background, light on your face rather than behind you.
- 6Join five minutes early and wait.
- 7Have your own documents open: the motivation letter you submitted, your transcript, your thesis abstract.
Two questions to ask them
At the end you will be invited to ask. Ask something that shows you read: about a research group's current direction, about how the programme's mobility or placement works, about the structure of a specific semester. Do not ask about the stipend amount or about visas — that information is published and asking suggests you did not look.
After the interview
Send nothing unless they asked you to. Results follow the scheme's own calendar, which is usually months rather than weeks. Keep applying elsewhere in the meantime — a pending interview is not a plan. Bangladesh is UTC+6 with no daylight saving, so a 10:00 Central European Time slot is 15:00 in Dhaka in winter and 14:00 in summer, while Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Finland run an hour ahead of Central European Time. Confirm against the calendar invitation itself and reply stating the slot in both time zones.
What if I do not know the answer to a question?+
Say so briefly, say how you would go about finding out, and stop. Panels expect gaps and are testing judgement as much as knowledge. Guessing confidently is the worse outcome, because it makes everything else you have said less reliable.
