Which of the nine have a spring intake
Every one of them does. What differs is how much of the catalogue is actually open.

Those application windows are the pattern, not a promise. Every university publishes its own dates and they move — check the programme page and the national portal, and see the intake and deadline calendar for the current picture.
The thing to understand first
A spring intake is not a late option. It is an earlier deadline for a later start.
If you missed a September intake because the application closed in January, the February intake you are now looking at probably closed in October or November — which is to say, it closed after the round you missed, not much after. Students who discover the spring intake in December and expect to fly in February are usually looking at the following September, and the sooner someone tells them that plainly the less money they waste.
The exception is Cyprus, where the process runs from Dhaka and the lead time is genuinely shorter. Who the spring intake genuinely suits
The student whose HSC result came late. A result published after the autumn deadline does not have to cost a whole year.
The student who needs one more IELTS attempt. A retake plus results plus document preparation is roughly three months. That fits between an autumn and a spring round; it does not fit inside a closing autumn round.
The student whose bank history is not seasoned yet. Every one of the nine looks at where funds came from, not only that they are there. If money has just arrived in the account, three or four more months of statements is a materially stronger file than a rushed one.
The student whose document legalisation is running behind. For Finland, Denmark and Greece an apostille does not work — those three objected under Article 12 when Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention on 30 March 2025 — so the full consular chain applies and it takes longer than people plan for.
The Master's applicant more than the Bachelor's applicant. Spring provision is thicker at Master's level in most of the nine.
What a February start changes about the degree itself
The application is the part everybody thinks about. The consequences run through the whole degree.

None of that is a reason to refuse a spring place. It is a reason to check, before you accept it, that the specific modules you care about run in the sequence a February start gives you. Ask the programme coordinator directly. They will know, and the answer almost never appears in a prospectus.
Who it does not suit
- 1Scholarship applicants. The large schemes run on the autumn cycle. Stipendium Hungaricum's round closes in January for a September start; Finnish university scholarships attach to the main round. If a scholarship is what makes the plan affordable, waiting for the next autumn round is usually the better decision, not the worse one. Verify on the scheme's own portal before assuming either way.
- 2Anyone who needs full programme choice. Outside Cyprus, spring catalogues are a subset. Your exact specialism may simply not run.
- 3Anyone counting on summer internships in the first year. A February start puts you out of phase with the recruitment calendar that is built around a September cohort.
- 4Anyone who wants a large intake cohort. Spring cohorts are smaller, which means fewer classmates, fewer electives running, and a quieter orientation.
- 5Anyone treating it as a rescue. If the reason the autumn application failed was funds, documents or English, a spring intake gives you four more months, not a different set of rules.
What to do next

If the honest answer is that neither this spring nor the coming autumn is reachable, say so early and aim at the round you can actually win.

Common questions
Is the spring intake easier to get into than the autumn one?+
Not in the sense of lower entry standards. It is smaller, so there is sometimes less competition for a place, but the same academic, English and financial requirements apply, and fewer programmes run. The real advantage is timing rather than a softer bar.
Can I apply for a February intake in December?+
For most of the nine, no. A February start usually means an application submitted in the previous autumn, so a December enquiry is generally aiming at the following September. Cyprus, where the process runs from Dhaka with a shorter lead time, is the most common exception, and even there you should confirm the specific programme's deadline rather than assume.
Are scholarships available for the spring intake?+
Generally the major schemes are tied to the autumn cycle. Stipendium Hungaricum's round closes in January for a September start, and Finnish university scholarships are awarded within the main round.
