The regulation, stated plainly
Teaching in a state school is a regulated profession in every European country. The requirements are national and they stack:
- 1The national teacher qualification — a specific initial teacher education programme, not any education degree
- 2The national language, at a working professional level, because you will teach in it
- 3A recognition decision on any foreign qualification, made by that country's own recognition authority
- 4In many countries, a civil-service appointment process, which can carry nationality or long-residence conditions
So a master's in education taught in English is not a licence to teach in a Finnish, Italian or Hungarian classroom. It is a genuine and respected academic degree — it is simply pointed at a different set of jobs.
⚠️ Finland is the country most often named in this conversation, usually because of its reputation in school education. That reputation is real, and Finnish class teacher training is famously competitive and conducted in Finnish. Studying education in Finland in English is possible; qualifying to teach in a Finnish primary school on that basis is not.

The last row deserves more attention than it gets. A European master's in education, curriculum studies or educational leadership is genuinely valuable in Bangladesh's growing English-medium and international school sector, and the return is faster than most families expect.

Entry requirements
- A bachelor's degree, usually in education, a teaching subject, or a social science
- IELTS 6.0-6.5
- Classroom experience is a strong differentiator for applied programmes. Two years teaching in Dhaka is worth more in this application than a higher CGPA
- A motivation letter naming an education problem you want to work on, not a general commitment to teaching

If teaching in Europe really is the goal
It is possible, but be honest about the sequence and the timescale:
- 1Study, and reach B2 or better in the national language while you are there — this takes years, not months
- 2Complete or convert to the national teacher qualification
- 3Apply for recognition of your foreign qualifications with that country's authority
- 4Only then apply for posts, and check the nationality or residence conditions for permanent appointments
The faster alternative is the international school circuit, which recruits in English worldwide and values an IB or British-curriculum background more than a local licence.
