Four things to insist on
1. In English. Documents issued in Bengali are not directly usable in Europe. Most boards and universities issue English versions — request them at the time of application. Otherwise you will need certified translation, which costs more time and money.
2. With credit hours. This is the most neglected and most important detail. Without credits a European evaluator cannot compute ECTS (why it matters). If your transcript omits them, obtain a letter from the university stating the programme's total credits and duration.
3. Multiple sets. Attestation can retain documents, embassies want to see originals, and universities sometimes request originals. Get two or three original sets — going back later restarts the whole wait.
4. Identical name spelling everywhere. ⚠️ Passport, certificates, transcripts and bank documents must match exactly. "Md." versus "Mohammad", a middle name present or absent — these small mismatches stall visa files and take months to correct. Check today; if there is a mismatch, fixing it is the first job, before collecting anything else.

What can now be done online
Many Bangladeshi education boards and universities now accept online applications and fee payment, and in some cases verification copies are available online. Check your board's or university's official site for "certificate/transcript application" before travelling to queue in person — those five minutes frequently save several days.

Which documents do European applications need?+

How long does collecting everything take?+
Two to four months realistically, because the steps are sequential: board or university 2–6 weeks, Ministry of Education 1–3 weeks, MOFA 1–2 weeks, embassy 1–3 weeks. Start three to four months before you apply.
Does a name spelling mismatch matter?+
Very much — it is one of the most expensive small errors. Passport, certificates, transcripts and bank documents must match exactly. If there is a mismatch, correcting it is the first job, before collecting anything else, because fixing it later takes months.
