Bangladesh produces a large number of agriculture, fisheries and animal science graduates — and most of them, when they consider Europe, plan to switch to business. In most cases that is the wrong move: staying in your field makes your profile distinctive and strong, while switching makes you one of thousands of identical applicants.

Why competition is lower, and how to use it
Where a computer science master's may draw hundreds of international applications, agriculture or fisheries often draws dozens. That means:
- Less CGPA pressure
- Better scholarship odds — the same funds, fewer competitors
- Contacting supervisors works — in research-led programmes, emailing a professor is far more likely to get a reply
Your real asset: Bangladesh's agricultural reality is genuine research material to European researchers. In your motivation letter, do not write that you want to study in a developed country. Write which problem you want to work on — salinity tolerance, post-harvest loss, aquaculture disease, climate adaptation — and which lab or professor on that programme works on something adjacent. Nothing raises the success rate in this field more.
Funding
Two routes do most of the work:

The employment picture
Honestly: research and industry jobs both exist, but the language requirement is stricter than in software. Food production, quality control and agricultural extension are local-language work. By contrast, research, PhDs and international organisations run in English — which is why students in this field who move toward a PhD have the smoothest path.
A good master's thesis makes a funded PhD comparatively attainable in agriculture — and a funded PhD in Europe means you are a salaried employee, not a fee-paying student.
