This is a real, established path, and many students take it every year — see post-study work and residence.
But note that step 3 cannot be skipped.
Where the promise breaks
What actually happens to students who travel on "you do not need to study, just get in":
Year 1: focus on work, irregular attendance, credits fall short.
End of year 1: renewal of the residence permit requires credits passed. Without enough, renewal can be refused.
Then: no permit means no right to work, banking problems, housing problems. Many drift into informal work — low pay, no protection — and the status becomes irregular.
Outcome: returning home, or years of uncertainty with no degree, no lawful status and nothing to come back to.
⚠️ This is not hypothetical. It is the most common failure pattern among Bangladeshi students in Europe, and it starts with a promise made in Bangladesh.
Claims that should stop the conversation
- "We will convert your student visa to a work permit" — no agency has that power; it is a state decision
- "Guaranteed job" — no legitimate institution guarantees employment
- "You will not need to study, just be enrolled" — cancelled enrolment cancels the permit
- "PR in one year" — not possible in any European country
- "Do not worry about documents, we will handle it" — why that is dangerous
The job-search permit, realistically
Post-study stay rights differ by country and are a genuine benefit — with conditions:
- The degree must be completed (the principal condition)
- You must apply within a set window
- You may need to show you can support yourself during it
- If you do not find work before it expires, you leave
So it is not a right to stay, but an opportunity to try — and success depends on your degree, language, network and field demand.
The honest advice
If your real objective is work rather than study, then say so and look for a legitimate work route. Some European countries have skilled-worker visa schemes, seasonal work arrangements and profession-specific routes. They are hard, but they are honest about your goal.
Using a student visa as cover for something else has two problems: it usually fails, and when it fails you lose the degree, the money and the chance of returning to Europe all at once.
And if study genuinely is your goal, the good news is that the lawful route to staying afterwards is real — and far more dependable than the disguise.
